Nachdem ich euch letzte Woche mein neues Projekt vorgestellt habe, sind wir mit dem vorletzten Bild in der Leporello-Serie zurück. Mit diesem hier wollte ich ein bisschen lockerer mit der Aquarellfarbe werden, sodass das Auge hervorsticht, während der Hintergrund verschwimmt. Manchmal bin ich etwas neidisch, wie dynamisch andere Künstler und Künstlerinnen mit Farbe umgehen können. Es stellt sich aber heraus, dass ich meinen normalen eher „fest“ wirkenden Stil viel wirklich mehr bei meinen eigenen Bildern mag. Ich habe schon eine gefestigte Art, wie ich mit Tinte zeichne. Aber es ist cool zu sehen, dass ich dort nun auch mit Aquarell angekommen bin.

After introducing you to my new project last week, we are back to the leporello with the second to last painting before this project is finished. With this one, I tried to be a little looser with the watercolor, so I could make the eye stand out and let things in the background blur. I am sometimes envious of other artists’ ability to use color more dynamically. It turns out, though, that I really prefer my usual more “solid” looking style with my own art. I already have a set way to use ink, but it is awesome to see that I have finally arrived there, too, with watercolor.
