Es ist endlich fertig! Mal langsam zu machen, hat mir gutgetan: Es war sehr beruhigend, mir mit dem Pinsel Zeit zu lassen. Auch war es einfacher Stellen zum Korrigieren zu finden, wenn ich mir eine Pause gegönnt und am nächsten Tag noch mal aufs Bild geschaut habe. Malen braucht eindeutig Zeit. Am meisten überrascht hat mich, wie einfach ich es fand, mit der Gouache zu arbeiten, nachdem ich mich auf eine kleine Farbauswahl beschränkt hatte. Ich mag, wie die Haut geworden ist, aber ich muss die Linien vielleicht noch mal überdenken. Hier habe ich dasselbe Dunkelbraun benutzt, wie in den Haaren. Während die Linien gut meinen Tintenzeichnungen entsprechen und die Figur ins Leben rufen, finde ich sie trotzdem etwas hart. Ich habe bemerkt, dass sie besser aussehen, wenn ich sie etwas dicker zeichne, also werde ich nächstes Mal vielleicht das ausprobieren. Oder erst eine Schicht Linien und das Bild dann drüber malen. Was empfiehlt ihr denn so?

It is finished at last! I enjoyed slowing down because it was therapeutic to take time with the brush. When taking a break and looking at the picture again next day, I could more easily spot places to correct things. Painting takes time after all. What surprised me the most is how easy I found working with gouache once I had limited myself to just a small palette of colors. I like how the skin tones turned out, though I may have to rethink the lining when I do the next piece. It was done with the dark brown color that I used in the hair. While the lining fits my inking style and makes the character come to life, I also think it looks rather hard. I noticed though that it looks better when I draw the lines thicker, so maybe that is what I will do next time. Or perhaps do a layer of them first, before painting the rest. What do you recommend?
